Major extensions & alterations
David Burghardt Vision Care

This scheme was carried out over a 22-week programme. The main facade of the building is built out of beautifully formed Ancaster Limestone to match up as close as possible to the existing building.
The main roof is finished with a living green roof that will bloom and provide a sustainable eco-friendly solution. Due to the noticeable lack of windows, to ensure the building complied with the latest building regulations, we installed a comprehensive fresh air intake and extract system along with a heat and cool air system.
To link the new building with the old, we have installed a powder-coated, aluminium glazed, mono-pitched roof, to provide natural light to what will be a busy waiting area.
This extension will now provide a much-needed additional space to an ever-growing optician's practice, along with increased parking and disabled access.
Works include:
- Groundworks within tight site constraints
- New single storey flat roof extension
- Coursed Ancaster Limestone facade
- Powder-coated aluminium facia / capped piece
- New heat and cool air conditioning system to new extension of existing system
- New fresh air supply and extract system
- New electrical installations
- New block paved car parking area
- New soft landscaping area
